The article attempts to define the change ; explores the reasons behind the resistance to change; to analyse the typology, the advantages and disadvantages of comprehensive and partial changes, and the methodologies of its enforcement. Moreover, it shows that the state bureaucracy almost in all societies enjoys a leading role in planning, supervision, coordination and even in the execution of developmental change processes. It tresspasses all existing institutions, groups and individuals in power, organization, legal and financial weapons, freedom of choices (...) and maneuverability.In searching for a convenient methodology of change in the developing societies; the article stresses that since these societies entirely differ in their material and human resources ; politica! stability ; standards ofhealth and education ; and above all in their mentality and emotional reactions, the determination of whichever change - immediate or incremental - to be followed, would certainly be out of question.However, incremental partial change may seem to be more practicable in the majority of these states. Acts of violence arising from hatred, racism, and bigotry have no place in a world of civility. The brutal attacks on Muslim worshippers at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, leaving 51 dead and 49 injured, can never be justified. Through adopting Van Dijk's ideological square of 'Us. vs. Them' [3], the present study uncovers the impact statements of the attacks' survivors and victims' families, denouncing the severity of the event and expressing the shattering effects of the attacks on self, (...) society, and humanity at large. Over a period of three days, about 90 people delivered their statements in the High Court in Christchurch. The data were compiled through YouTube videos and news articles that reported the testimonies. The findings showed that the overall discursive strategy used in the impact statements is that of positive self-presentation and negative other-presentation. Such presentations are realized by focusing on the positive aspects of the ingroup members represented by the attacks' survivors, victims' families, and people of New Zealand on the one hand, and the negative characteristics of the out-group members represented by the terrorist, on the other. As the paper sends a strong message for accepting 'otherness' and rejecting antagonism, it is of significance to readers and researchers in inter-faith dialogue, human rights, equality, freedom, and justice. Value Co-Creation plays a major role in engaging knowledgeable individuals in a community via innovation, problem solving, and new service/product development. This study investigates the personal factors that influence individuals’ engagement in value co-creation in Higher Education Institutions through the use of online platforms. Some higher education institutions have successfully established or used appropriate online platforms, such as online forums, web applications, and mobile applications to engage their community in ideation or crowdsourcing as a part of the value co-creation process. On the other hand, some HEIs have failed to engage their community in value co-creation activities, and even if they managed to engage some individuals in value co-creation once, they failed to sustain these individuals’ engagement in value co-creation using online platforms. Using the Stimulus Organism Response framework, this study examines the relationship between relevant personal factors and other motivational factors that provide perceived benefits with value co-creation engagement. Data was collected from 308 respondents at five Malaysian research universities. The software analysis tool Smart PLS is used for data analysis and validation. The results demonstrate that personal factors and perceived benefits as a motivational factor has a significant effect on individual engagement in value co-creation. However, the significance of these findings varies from one individual to another. The implications of these findings are discussed. (shrink)

The subject of this study was chosen with the aim of reaching the integrity and authenticity of the narrations that reveal the interpretive meaning in the vocabulary of the Qur’an. Therefore, it is known that jurists and researchers face many problems in correcting the narrations related to the legal rulings. It is necessary to stop at correct or reliable narrations because they contribute to revealing the legal ruling. They are of higher importance if they are related to the jurisprudence of (...) the Qur’an, which necessitated choosing this research that stems from the problem due to the importance of reaching the later narrations used by the interpreters of the verses of the rulings. The study also focused on creating a new method in interpreting the verses of the rulings with the corresponding narrations, whether by chains of transmission or texts, in order to reach the reliability of the quadripartite victory. This paper draws on the mystical thought of Ibn al-‘Arabī (d. 1240) in order to explicate Plato’s account of the relationship between intelligible Forms and sensible objects. The author considers attempts by scholars to solve the difficulties that are inherent in the relationship between sensible objects and their essences—difficulties raised in the Parmenides—by reference to the notion of “immanent characters” of the Phaedo. He examines Ibn al-‘Arabī’s notion of “Specific Faces,” which in the author’s opinion correspond to Plato’s immanent characters. (...) Comparing Ibn al-‘Arabī’s thought with Plato’s reflections on the theory of Forms in the Republic and the Symposium, the author reaches the conclusion that the notion of immanent characters or Specific Faces cannot be offered as a rational account of the relationship between sensible objects and their essences. The Sufi saints, in their texts, successfully ingrained Love as the destination of spiritual path, to accomplish the Divine. The objective of this study was to focus on the cult of Sufism, in general, and on the Sufi poetry of Fakhr al-Din ʿIrāqī, in particular as reflected in his anthology, Kitāb al-lamaʿāt. Adopting a historical approach, the study analyzed the evolution of Sufi poetry since the beginning, and examined the poetry of ʿIrāqī in the context of Islamic mysticism. This qualitative (...) study adopted an exploratory content analysis method and documentation research to examine the Sufi philosophy as reflected in the sampled poetry of ʿIrāqī. For the realization of this goal, a research was conducted on the available published resources. The documentation survey helped discover the truth of ʿIrāqī ’s poetry in the context of Spiritual love. It was discovered that ʿIrāqī ’s philosophy of Love was based on metaphysical transcendentalism, where spiritual attainment was achieved through formlessness mirrored in the form of Beauty as the manifestation of Love. This paper examines the Bahāʾī philosophy with all its religious values and humanitarian practices to assess their relevance to the modern times. The rationale behind the choice of this subject was to find out whether the Bahāʾī philosophy could be yet another force and potential ideology to offer a solution to modern time challenges that are faced globally. Using a qualitative research design, the data was collected through a content analysis and close reading of Bahāʾī scriptures, tablets, letters and other (...) library sources. A close study of the Bahāʾī doctrines, values and faith revealed that the Bahāʾī philosophy extended the message of uniting the whole humanity by uniting all religions and sects, despite their apparent differences. All religions, according to the Bahāʾī faith, are manifestations of God and work towards an identical and universal divine plan to educate the human race. The social ethics of the Bahāʾīs emphasized upon the “oneness of humanity”, abolition of racial discrimination, class distinction, and religious prejudices, without any need of priesthood or rigid rituals of worshipping. If implemented and complied universally in principle, the Bahāʾī philosophy could be one of the potential ideologies to resolve the racial and religious conflicts. (shrink)

Saudi Arabia has had remarkable progress in reducing maternal and neonatal mortality over the past decades. While various challenges persist, such as unequal access to healthcare, a history of pre-existing maternal conditions, and neonatal complications, this review will focus on critical determinants of maternal and neonatal outcomes in Saudi Arabia, including government-driven efforts through Vision 2030 towards enhancing health care infrastructure and policies. The focus has been on antenatal care, neonatal intensive care units, and maternal mortality audit issues, enhancing outcomes. (...) Recommendations are the adoption of standardized risk assessment tools and health disparities abatement between the Saudi population and non-Saudi populations. BackgroundSex and gender influence individuals’ psychology, but are often overlooked in psychological science. The sex and gender equity in research (SAGER) guidelines provide instruction for addressing sex and gender within five sections of a manuscript (i.e., title/abstract, introduction, methods, results, and discussion) (Heidari et al., Res Integr Peer Rev 1:1-9, 2016).MethodsWe examined whether the 89 journals published by the American Psychological Association provide explicit instruction for authors to address sex and gender within these five sections. Both authors reviewed the journal (...) instructions to authors for the words “sex,” and “gender,” and noted explicit instruction pertaining to these five sections.ResultsOnly 8 journals (9.0%) instructed authors to address sex/gender within the abstract, introduction, and/or methods sections. No journals instructed authors to address sex and gender in the results or discussion sections.ConclusionThese journals could increase sex/gender equity and improve the reproducibility of psychological science by instructing authors to follow the SAGER guidelines. The existing research aims to seek the herding effects on stock returns at the industry level in Pakistan Stock Exchange. Moreover, the relationship between stock returns and herding has been studied by taking some macroeconomic and fundamental control variables. Herding is actually imitating other’s behaviour. This phenomenon indicates a situation where the investors follow the crowed and ignores their personal information, despite knowing the correctness of their information. Herd behaviour may drive from fundamental factors leading to efficient markets. However, it (...) may not be associated with fundamental information causing unstable prices. The stock price data of PSX listed companies from 1999 to 2017 have been the point of focus. The underlying herding measure was the cross-sectional absolute deviation, proposed by Chang et al.. The significant analysis technique facilitating the current research is pooled mean group /panel autoregressive distributed lag approach. Findings revealed that some sectors are evident for positive effect of herding on stock returns, whereas some others are witnessed for its negative effects on stock returns, in both long run and short run. As far as the control variables are concerned, they demonstrated both significant and insignificant effects on stock returns in different sectors of PSX. This study aims to identify challenges related to the quality of legal terms translated from Arabic to English in laws pertaining to children in five countries in the Middle East and North Africa region: Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates. The terms describe children’s behaviors that are considered legally and socially unacceptable and adult behaviors that violate laws meant to protect children’s rights in both domestic and foreign contexts. Using a blend of analytical and descriptive methodologies, (...) along with comparative legal research tools and critical discourse analysis, an analytical model called CCFND was developed. This model identifies three primary standards for evaluating translation quality, each with specific criteria for consistency, coherence, and general notes cover features, non-detrimental errors, and detrimental errors. The analysis of 72 legal terms revealed that the translation quality was high, with an equivalence rate of 93.29% for the standard of consistency, a slightly higher rate of 97.92% for the standard of coherence, and a standard equivalence rate along with eight features, one non-detrimental error, and seven detrimental errors. These findings indicate that using various strategies, the translations effectively gained high quality in rendering the terms from Arabic to English. It is suggested that the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language should develop a bilingual contextual dictionary of effective legal translation strategies for terms and phrases related to children in both national and international laws. Ebû İshâk es-Saffâr, 6./12. yüzyıl Hanefî-Mâtürîdî âlimlerinden biridir. Kelâma dair Telḫîṣü’l-edille eserinde esmâ-i hüsnâ konusuna ayrıntılı olarak yer vermektedir. İki cilt hâlinde yayımlanan bu eserin yaklaşık üçte birlik bir kısmını esmâ-i hüsnâ konusu oluşturmaktadır. Bu kısım incelendiğinde, Saffâr’ın Allah’ın varlığı, birliği ve sıfatları ile ilgili konular başta olmak üzere pek çok konuyu 175 esmâ-i hüsnâya dayanarak izah ettiği görülmektedir. (...) [his book discusses the theological views of Abū Isḥāq al-Ṣaffār d. 534/1139), within the framework of his comments on the meanings of Allah’s names, provided in his work titled Talkhīṣ al-adilla. Abū Isḥāq al-Ṣaffār is one of the Ḥanafite-Māturīdite scholars in the 6th/12th century. In his work titled Talkhīṣ al-adilla li-qawāʿid al-tawḥīd on kalām, he spared extensive space for al-asmāʾ al-husnā. Approximately one third of this work, published in two volumes, is devoted to al-asmāʾ al-husnā. An examination of the related section reveals that al-Ṣaffār explains many issues, particularly those related to the existence, unity and attributes of Allah, based on 175 al-asmāʾ al-husnā. He mentions some of the names that he does not include in the al-asmāʾ al-husnā section under separate headings. For example, the name al-Mutakallim is addressed within the context of the attribute of kalām and in relation to subjects, such as the khalq al-Qurʾān and i‘jaz al-Qurʾān. Upon the addition of these names to the list, the number names reaches 178. This means that half of the work deals with the subject of al-asmāʾ al-husnā. -/- al-Ṣaffār lists the divine names in alphabetical order and explains them semantically in the chapter of al-asmāʾ al-husnā. Then he goes on to clarify each divine name through a theological lens with a specific reference to the subject of kalām. In the pre-Saffar Ḥanafite-Māturīdite theological literature, there is no other work that addresses al-asmāʾ al-husnā in such an extensive way. -/- This book consists of three main sections. The first section titled “Methodological Framework”, elaborates on the focus, significance, purpose and method of the study, along with the sources used. The first part describes the political, social and religious status of Transoxiana (Mā-warāʾ al-Nahr) region and the cities of Bukhara and Marw, the sociocultural environment in which Saffar lived. The second chapter addresses various concepts, which promote the understanding of al-asmāʾ al-husnā, such as name, tasmiya, musammā, attribute and qualification in addition to the theological debates such as the number and iḥṣāʾ of al-asmāʾ al-husnā. Then, it provides information about the al-asmāʾ al-husnā literature produced in the pre- Ṣaffār period. The end of each chapter comes with a detailed table with the 178 divine names mentioned by al-Ṣaffār. In the third chapter, the author initially discusses the theological principles that al-Ṣaffār considered while explaining the essence of al-asmāʾ al-husnā. This section also determines and systematically categorizes the theological views and evaluations put forward by al-Ṣaffār while explaining the divine names in Talkhīṣ al-adilla. The tables with the divine names and the related discussions can be seen at the end of the discussion for each subject. The last section presents the conclusions reached, regarding the kalām method based on al-Ṣaffār’s understanding of the essence of al-asmāʾ al-husnā. The present study revealed that he made theological interpretations in 75% of the al-asmāʾ al-husnā and interpreted all theological issues ranging from the subjects of knowledge and existence to the Afterlife in connection with the al-asmāʾ al-husnā. Türk ve İslam tarihinin kırılma noktalarından birisi 1040 yılında Selçuklular ile Gazneliler arasında cereyan eden Dandanakan Savaşı’dır. Savaşın ardından Selçuklular hızlı bir yükselişle özellikle Sünnî İslam coğrafyasında etkin ve belirleyici güç haline gelmiştir. Göçebe kültürden gelen ve bir oba hüviyetinde iken çok kısa bir sürede önlenemez bir şekilde hâkimiyet alanını Türkistan coğrafyasından Anadolu içlerine kadar genişleten Büyük Selçuklu Devleti, kurumsal olarak da olgunlaşmaya başlamıştır. Bu noktada hem merkezi yönetimde hem de vilayetlerde ortaya çıkan yetişmiş eleman ihtiyacını birçoğu daha önce Gazneli (...) devlet teşkilatında görev yapmış Fars asıllı devlet adamları karşılamıştır. Bu isimlerden birisi de ileride Nizâmülmülk adıyla şöhret bulacak ve namı isminin önüne geçecek olan Hasan b. Alî b. İshâk et-Tûsî’dir. Nizâmülmülk, devlet gücünün askeri alanda elde edilen zaferlere endekslendiği bir dönemde askerî, idarî, ilmî ve ekonomik alanda attığı adımlar ve aldığı tedbirlerle Büyük Selçuklu Devleti’nin kurumsallaşmasında son derece etkin bir isim olmuştur. Bu etkinlik neticesinde hem halk hem de devlet adamları nezdinde saygın bir yer edinmiştir. Bu çalışma çerçevesinde Nizâmülmülk’ün devlet bürokrasisi içerisindeki konumuna, hükümdar ve hanedan üyeleri ile olan ilişkilerine ve vezirlik sürecinde attığı adımların Selçuklu tarihine yansımalarına değinilecektir. Özet: Devlet kademesinde görev almaya Gazneliler Devleti’nin Horasan Valisi Ebü’l-Fazl Sûrî’nin yanında başlayan Nizâmülmülk, Horasan Bölgesi’nin Selçukluların kontrolüne geçmesiyle birlikte hizmetlerine Selçuklu Devleti’nde devam etmiştir. Çağrı Bey’in hizmetinde rüştünü ispat eden Nizâmülmülk, Çağrı Bey’in en güvendiği isimlerden biri haline gelmiştir. Öyle ki, Çağrı Bey ileride önce Horasan’ın sonrasında tüm Selçuklu yurdunun yönetimini üstlenecek olan oğlu Alparslan’ı Nizâmülmülk’e emanet etmiş, oğluna da Nizâmülmülk’ü bir baba olarak kabul etmesini, ona muhalefet etmemesini öğütlemiştir. Alparslan, babasının tavsiyeleri ve üvey kardeşi Süleyman ile giriştiği taht mücadelesinde gösterdiği yararlılık münasebetiyle devletin en önemli idari görevi olan vezirlik makamını Nizâmülmülk’e tevdi etmiştir. Bu dönemden itibaren vefatına kadar, yaklaşık 30 yıl kesintisiz bir süreyle Büyük Selçuklu Devleti’nin vezirliğini yapmış ve V./XI. yy.’ın ikinci yarısından itibaren Büyük Selçuklu siyasetinin en etkin figürü haline gelmiştir. Melikşah’ın tahta geçebilmesinin Nizâmülmülk ile ilişkilendirilmesi, onun döneminde elde edilen başarıların ve devlet sisteminin düzenlenmesi, şehirlerin imarı, ekonominin güçlenmesi gibi ülke içerisinde yaşanan olumlu gelişmelerin Nizâmülmülk’ün marifetiyle gerçekleştirildiğinin dillendirilmesi, Tanrı tarafından yeryüzünü yönetmek ve inşa etmek için seçildiği düşünülen bir sultan varken bir vezirin devlet için nimet olarak gösterilmesi sultanın vezirine bakışını etkilemiştir. Bu noktada üzerinde durulması gereken hususlardan birisi de Nizâmülmülk’ün kendisini nasıl gördüğü ve devlet içerisinde kendini nerede konumlandırdığıdır. Nizâmülmülk’ün Sultan Melikşah’a verdiği bir cevapta devletin geldiği noktayı ve sultanın mevcudiyetini kendi varlığıyla eşleştirmesi, tarihinin gördüğü en yetenekli vezirlerden biri olan Nizâmülmülk’ün özgüveninin son derece yüksek ve kendisini kudret sahibi olarak gördüğüne işaret etmektedir. Bu anlamlandırma halk nezdinde herhangi bir kutsiyeti bulunmayan vezirlik makamındaki bir kişinin, toplum nezdinde Allah tarafından seçildiğine inanılan kutlu kişiye meydan okutan gücü kendisinde hissetmesinin kaynağını sorgulatmaktadır. Aranan cevap Nizâmülmülk’ün vezirlik sürecinin çeşitli başlıklar altında ve bu başlıklara dair verilecek örneklerle incelenmesi neticesinde onun devletin iç işleyişine etkisinin tespitinde ve farklı kesimlerle kurduğu ilişkide saklıdır. Nizâmülmülk, Selçuklu tahtına karşı sıkı bir bağlılık göstermiştir. Bu bağlılığını lüzumu halinde savaş meydanında göğüs göğüse çarpışarak sergilemiş, gerekli olduğunda kıvrak zekâsı ile sorunları devlet için tehlikeli boyuta gelmeden çözmüş, siyasi öngörüsü ile aldığı tedbirler sayesinde devletin büyümesine katkı sağlamıştır. Onun bu sadakati ve samimiyeti, Selçuklu sultanları tarafından karşılık bırakılmamış, Alparslan vezirinin fikirlerine büyük önem verip tercihlerini bu doğrultuda şekillendirirken, aleyhine söylenen sözlerin hiçbirine kulak asmamıştır. Melikşah da, bir anlamda kendisine Selçuklu tahtını veren Nizâmülmülk’e gerekli hürmeti göstererek bütün devlet işlerinin yürütülmesini ona tevdi etmiş ve kendisini bir “baba” gibi gördüğünü ifade etmiştir. İlaveten Selçuklu tarihinde bir ilk olmak üzere Melikşah, Nizâmülmülk’e atabeg (el-emîrü’l-vâlid) unvanını vermiştir. Melikşah, Büyük Selçuklu tahtındaki ilk yıllarını, gençliğin etkisiyle, polo oynayıp, büyük av partileri düzenlemekle geçirmiş ve bundan dolayı devlet içerisinde bütün güç Nizâmülmülk’ün eline geçmiştir. Ortaya çıkan bu durum da “ülke resmen ve ismen sultanın olmakla birlikte gerçekte ‘Nizam’ına kavuştu.” ifadesiyle açıklanmıştır. Ayrıca Melikşah’ın saltanatı döneminde elde edilen askerî, siyasî ve ekonomik başarılar Nizâmülmülk’ün yeteneği ve devlet işlerinde attığı adımlara bağlanmıştır. Nizâmülmülk, hanedan ile kurduğu ilişkinin yanı sıra devlet kademesinde görev alan farklı zümrelerle de güven üzerine dayalı yakın bir ilişki biçimi geliştirmiştir. Örneğin, Nizâmülmülk’ün katıldığı askerî seferlerde bir nefer gibi askerlerin içerisinde savaşa katılması ordu içerisinde kendisine saygı duyulmasına yol açmıştır. Ayrıca, Melikşah ile Kirman Hâkimi Kavurd Bey arasındaki taht mücadelesinde Melikşah’ın safında yer almakla birlikte Kavurd Bey’i destekleyen bazı isimlerin yazdıkları destek mektuplarının ortaya çıkmasına engel olarak hem emirlerin korkularını yatıştırırmış hem de itibarını artırmıştır. Nizâmülmülk’ün yakın ilişki içerisinde olduğu bir diğer grup ilmiye sınıfı olmuştur. Bilge vezir, Tuğrul Bey döneminde Amidülmülk Kündürî tarafından takibata uğrayan ve baskılara maruz kalan ilim adamlarının yurtlarına dönebilmelerine imkân sağlamıştır. Bu ilim adamları da yurtlarına dönüşlerini sağlayan isme zihinlerinde ve gönüllerinde her zaman özel bir yer ayırmışlardır. Birçok âlimin çalışmalarını Nizâmülmülk’e ithaf etmesi, diğer saiklerle birlikte, bunun bir göstergesidir. Nizâmülmülk bir adım daha atarak, Sultan Alparslan ve Melikşah’ın müsaadeleriyle, bu ilim adamları için hâkim olunan coğrafyanın her tarafında ilimle iştigal edebilecekleri medreseler inşa etmiştir. Nizâmülmülk’ün adına nispetle Nizamiye Medreseleri olarak isimlendirilen bu medreselerde hem eğitim-öğretim kadrosuna hem de öğrenim süresi boyunca ve de mezun olduktan sonra öğrencilere sunulan imkânlar, insanların medreselere olan ilgisini arttırıyordu. Medreseler eliyle bir taraftan önceki dönemde yerlerinden edilen ve baskıya maruz kalan ilim adamlarına bir borç ödenip iade-i itibar sağlanırken diğer taraftan da Büyük Selçuklu Devleti’nin idari ve adli sisteminin ihtiyaç duyduğu yetişmiş insan gücü inşa edilmiştir. Nizâmülmülk, toplum lehine attığı adımlar ve sorunların çözümüne verdiği önem ile halkın desteğini sağlamıştır. Öyle ki insanların hayatları boyunca ona minnettar kaldığı vurgulanmıştır. Nizâmülmülk halkın sorunlarının çözümüne önem göstermiş ve onlarla yakından ilgilenmiştir. Nizâmülmülk’ün verdiği güven duygusu halkın hoşuna gitmiş ve toplum içerisinde kabul görmesine vesile olmuştur. Nizâmülmülk’ün bir diğer hasleti de fakirlere sofrasını açmasıdır. Böylece onlarla diyalog kurmuş ve gönüllerini kazanmıştır. Her yönüyle eksiksiz bir devlet adamı olan Nizâmülmülk, toplumun her türlü ihtiyacının çözümünü düşünmüş ve bu yönde adımlar atmıştır. Nizâmülmülk’ün toplumun her kesimi ile kurduğu samimi ve yakın ilişki o kadar büyük bir takdir ve beğeni toplamıştır ki bu durum Nizâmülmülk’ün toplum nezdinde sultan itibarı görmesine sebep olmuştur. İlaveten Selçuklu coğrafyasının her yerinden ve toplumun her kesiminden insanın kendisine yönelmesi hasebiyle Kâbe’ye benzetilmiştir. Nizâmülmülk, devlet kademesinde görev alan aile bireyleri, ilişki içerisinde olduğu âlimler, kendi ordusu ve emirleri ile bir güç odağı haline gelmiştir. Bunun sonucunda Nizâmülmülk, 11. yüzyılın son çeyreğinde rakipsiz bir şekilde Büyük Selçuklu siyasetinin en etkin figürü, Selçuklu yönetimini ve politikalarını belirleyen isim ve Selçuklu tarihinin en önemli olaylarında karar mercii olmuş ve sonuçta Selçuklu tarihine damga vurmuştur. İbnü’l-Esîr, Fatımî veziri Bedr el-Cemalî’nin kendisi için kullandığı sayısız lakabı kaydettikten sonra sadece Mısır’a hâkim olan bir devletin veziri bu kadar lakap kullanıyorsa Nizâmülmülk’ün “ilah”lık iddiasında bulunması gerekirdi diyerek hem Selçuklunun azametini hem de Selçuklu devletinde Nizâmülmülk’ün yerini göstermektedir. XVI-XVII əsrlər - Yarkənd xanlığı uyğur xalqının mədəni və siyasi gücünün inkişafında mühüm rol oynamışdır. XVI əsrin sonlarından etibarən Nəqşibəndi təriqətinə mənsub hocalar siyasi gücə malik olmuş, daha sonra Cungarlar bir müddət regionu idarə etmişlər. XVIII əsrin ikinci yarısından etibarən isə Çin-Mancur işğalı uyğur xalqının azadlıq mübarizəsini gücləndirmişdir. Müstəmləkə siyasətinə və mürtəce ideologiyaya qarşı fəal mübarizədə Uyğur xalqı arasında XIX əsr ərzində mütərəqqi ictimai-siyasi məsələlər ön planda olmuşdur. XIX əsrin birinci yarısında uyğur ziyalıları – Məhəmməd Sadıq Kaşğari, Əbdurəhim Nizari, Turdı (...) Qaribi, İmir Hüseyn Səburi, Nazıqum və başqaları ictimai-siyasi və fəlsəfi-əxlaqi məsələlərlə bağlı çıxışlar etmiş, xalqın mənəvi və sosial azadlığı uğrunda mübarizə aparmış, fəaliyyət göstərmişlər. Onların əsərlərində etik və orijinal fikirlər mövcuddur ki, bu fikirlər bu gün də аktualdır və gənc nəslin mənəvi tərbiyəsinə şübhəsiz töhfə verir. Bu baxımdan Uyğur xalqının əsrlər boyu davam edən ictimaifəlsəfi və etik düşüncə tarixinin öyrənilməsi mühüm əhəmiyyətə malikdir. (shrink)

Yapay zekâ teknolojilerinde son yıllarda yaşanan hızlı ilerlemeler, çeviri faaliyetlerini köklü biçimde dönüştüren yeni imkânlar sunmaktadır. Doğal dili işleme kapasitesi gelişen yapay zekâ uygulamaları, yalnızca sözcük düzeyinde eşleştirmeler yapmakla kalmayıp bağlamı, anlam ilişkilerini, kültürel çağrışımları ve metnin bütünsel yapısını dikkate alan çeviriler üretebilmektedir. Bu dönüşüm, özellikle çeviri süreci yoğun uzmanlık bilgisi gerektiren klasik İslâmî metinlerde önemli bir potansiyel barındırmaktadır. Fıkıh, tefsir, hadis ve kelam gibi disiplinlerdeki Arapça klasik metinlerin dilsel zorluğu; eski söz varlığı, veciz anlatım, yoğun dinî terminoloji ve üslup (...) çeşitliliği gibi sebeplerle çevrilmesi hem zaman hem maliyet hem de uzmanlık yönünden güç bir süreçtir. Bu bağlamda, yapay zekânın böylesine karmaşık metinleri ne ölçüde başarıyla çevirebildiğinin araştırılması hem teorik hem de pratik açıdan önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmanın problemi, yapay zekâ destekli çeviri uygulamalarından biri olan DeepSeek’in İslâmî klasik metinleri Türkçeye çevirme performansının hangi düzeyde olduğu ve uzman çevirmenlerle karşılaştırıldığında nasıl bir tablo sunduğudur.Araştırmanın amacı, DeepSeek uygulamasının klasik İslâmî metinlerde karşılaşılan dilsel ve kavramsal zorlukları aşma kapasitesini incelemek, uygulamanın çevirilerini uzman çevirilerle karşılaştırarak benzerliklerini ve farklılıklarını ortaya koymak ve yapay zekâ destekli çevirilerin bu alanda ne tür imkânlar taşıdığını belirlemektir. Çalışmanın önemi, İslam mirası eserlerinin Türkçeye kazandırılmasına yönelik çeviri faaliyetlerinin uzun yıllar süren, yüksek maliyetli ve geniş uzman ekibi gerektiren süreçler olduğu gerçeğinden kaynaklanmaktadır.Çalışma, nitel araştırma yaklaşımıyla tasarlanmış betimleyici bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen iki İslâmî klasik metinden oluşmaktadır: Şâfiî mezhebine ait Minhâcü’t-Tâlibîn ve ‘Umdetü’l-Müftîn’den sefer hâlinde namazın kısaltılması konusunu içeren 125 kelimelik bir pasaj ile Zemahşerî’nin el-Keşşâf adlı tefsirinden Mâide Suresi 97–99. âyetlerinin tefsirini içeren 223 kelimelik bölüm. Her iki metin PDF formatında elde edilerek DeepSeek’in optik karakter tanıma (OCR) özelliğiyle dijital metne dönüştürülmüş ve 1 Temmuz 2025 tarihinde uygulama aracılığıyla Türkçeye çevrilmiştir. Daha sonra DeepSeek çevirileri ile alanında yetkin çevirmenlerin akademik yayınevleri tarafından yayımlanmış çevirileri karşılaştırılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde nitel içerik analizi yöntemi uygulanmış; çeviriler kelime, cümle ve paragraf düzeyinde incelenmiş ve bulgular anlamsal hassasiyet, sözcük seçimi ve metinsel müdahale olmak üzere üç tema altında sınıflandırılmıştır.Araştırmanın bulguları, DeepSeek’in klasik İslâmî metinlerdeki yoğun terminoloji, eski söz varlığı ve karmaşık anlam örgülerini büyük ölçüde başarıyla aktarabildiğini göstermektedir. Uygulamanın çevirilerinin birçok durumda uzman çeviriye yakın bir doğruluk düzeyi taşıdığı, hatta bazı bağlamlarda daha özlü, daha akademik ve daha etkili bir üslup kullanabildiği görülmüştür. Metinsel müdahale açısından ise DeepSeek’in metne birebir bağlı kalmadığı; bazı yerlerde açıklayıcı eklemeler yaptığı veya gereksiz tekrarları çıkararak özetleyici bir strateji benimsediği tespit edilmiştir. Uzman çevirmenlerin ise zaman zaman metni genişlettiği, açıklayıcı müdahalelerde bulunduğu ve kişisel bilgi birikimine dayalı tercihler yaptığı gözlemlenmiştir.Sonuç olarak çalışma, DeepSeek uygulamasının klasik İslâmî metinlerin Türkçeye çevirisinde güçlü bir yardımcı araç olarak kullanılabileceğini, çeviri kalitesinin büyük ölçüde tatmin edici olduğunu ve pek çok durumda uzman çeviriyle yarışabilecek bir düzeye ulaştığını ortaya koymaktadır. Milletler kültürel, ekonomik, siyasi ve askeri alanlarda birbirleri ile ilişki içerisindedir. Milletlerin dillerinin bu ilişkiden bağımsız olması ve etkiye kapalı olması düşünülemez. Diller arası etkileşim, kelime ve söz alışverişi dilin doğal yapısının bir gereğidir. Dolayısıyla diller birbirleriyle kelime alışverişi içinde olmuşlardır. Türkçe de tarih boyunca diğer dillerden kelime almış, onlara kelime vermiştir. Türkçenin kelime alışverişi yaptığı dillerin başında Arapça gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada Karaman ve Konya yöresi ağızlarında kullanılan ve Arapça ile irtibatlı olduğu düşünülen bazı kelimeler üzerinde durulmuştur. Kelimelerin seçilmesi ve (...) derlenmesi sürecinde öncelikle literatür taraması yapılmış ve söz konusu yörelerin ağızları üzerinde yapılan çalışmaların sözlük kısımları detaylıca irdelenmiştir. Literatür taramasıyla derlenen kelimeler bazen yapılandırılmış görüşme bazen de yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yöntemiyle ilk ağızlardan teyit edilmiştir. Bu sayede kelimelerin kullanımları ile ilgili örnek cümleler kayda geçirilmiş ve kullanıldıkları yörelere işaret edilmiştir. Derleme sürecinde tespit edilen kelimeler tür bakımından isim, fiil, sıfat, zarf ve zamir şeklinde tasnif edilmiştir. Tamamının makalenin hacmini aşacağı görüldüğünden bunların ayrı çalışmalarda ele alınması gerekmiştir. Bu bakımdan bu çalışmada Karaman ve Konya yöresi ağızlarında kullanılan ve Arapça kökenli olduğu düşünülen sıfat, zarf ve zamir türündeki kelimeler ele alınmış, isim ve fiillerin başka çalışmalarda irdelenmesi planlanmıştır. Kelimeler başta Derleme Sözlüğü’nde (Türkiye Türkçesi Ağızları Sözlüğü) yer alan bilgilerle karşılaştırılmış, kimi kelimelerin Derleme Sözlüğü’nde yer almadığı görülmüş ve bu kelimelerin sözlüğe eklenmesi teklif edilmiştir. Çalışmada Derleme Sözlüğü’nde bulunan 22, Derleme Sözlüğü’nde bulunmayan 15 kelime olmak üzere toplamda 37 kelime ele alınmıştır. (shrink)

Mehdî inancı, İslam toplumunda yayılışından kısa bir süre sonra, kitleleri harekete geçiren bir motivasyon olarak Abbâsî İhtilâli sırasında yeniden ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu sebeple, ihtilâli ele alan birçok çalışmada halkta yaygınlık kazanan bu inançtan nasıl ve ne şekilde istifade edildiği incelenmiştir. Abbâsîler, Mehdî inancı olarak ifade edilen beklenen kurtarıcı inancından, ihtilâl başarıya ulaştıktan sonra da hilafette kendilerine meşruiyet sağlama amacı ile istifade etmişlerdir. Böylece Ahbâru’l-Abbâs adlı, Abbâsîlerin ihtilâlle sonuçlanan mücadelelerinin yarı resmi tarihi olarak sayılan kaynakta da Abbâsîlerin beklenen kurtarıcılar olduğunu vurgulayan (...) birçok rivâyet yer almıştır. Ahbâru’l-Abbâs, Abbâsî İhtilâli hakkında önemli bilgiler sunan ve bu nedenle muhtemelen Abbâsî ailesine yakın biri tarafından yazılmış olduğu tahmin edilen anonim bir el yazmasıdır. Abdülaziz ed-Dûrî ve Abdülcebbâr el-Muttalibî tarafından 1971'de yayımlandıktan sonra, Ahbâru’l-Abbâs veya kısaca Ahbâr olarak tanınmıştır. Bu kaynakta Abbâsîlerin beklenen kurtarıcılar olduğunu vurgulayan birçok rivâyet vardır ancak bu rivâyetler daha çok siyah sancakların ortaya çıkışı ile ilgili anlatımlarla sunulmuştur. Şimdiye kadar eser hakkında veya eserden istifade edilerek yapılan çalışmalarda, rivâyetler çoğunlukla ihtilâlin bilinmeyen yönlerine ışık tutacak şekilde ele alınmıştır, fakat bu rivayetler ile Mehdî inancı arasında doğrudan bir ilişki olduğunu vurgulayan bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Böylece kaynaktaki rivâyetlerin Mehdî inancı açısından ayrıntılı olarak incelenmediği söylenebilir. Çalışmamızla ilgili literatür bakımından üzerinde durulması gereken iki temel konu vardır. Bunlar arasında da en önemlisi şüphesiz ki Ahbâr’dır. Modern dönemde yeni bulunmuş bu kaynak üzerine olan çalışmalar çoğunlukla Abbâsî İhtilâli’ni ele alan çalışmalardır. Son zamanlarda kaynağın tarihyazımı açısından değeri veya sahihliği hakkında da bazı çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Literatürdeki diğer ilgili çalışmalar ise bir asrı aşkın süredir üzerinde detaylı şekilde inceleme yapılan Mehdî inancı ve bunun ihtilâl için önemine odaklanan araştırmalardır. Bu noktada, Gerlof Van Vloten'in kitabı, Mehdî inancına yönelik bazı önemli noktalara değinen ve bunun Abbâsî İhtilâli üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koyan birincil eser olarak kabul edilmektir. Bununla birlikte Van Vloten, el yazması onun çalışmasını kaleme aldığı dönemde (19. yüzyılın sonunda) henüz keşfedilmediği için Ahbâr’a hiç atıfta bulunmamıştır. Bu makale Abbâsî İhtilâli’nde Mehdî (kurtarıcı) inancının siyah sancaklar hakkındaki rivayetler aracılığıyla oluşturulan etkisini tartışmak amacıyla yazılmıştır. Ahbâr’daki ilgili rivayetleri Mehdî inancıyla ilişkilendirerek ortaya koymaktadır. Bu nedenle bu makale için “Siyah Sancaklı Mehdî” başlığı seçilmiştir. Modern tarihçiler, bu inancın İslam toplumunda giderek yaygınlaştığına ve dolayısıyla Abbâsî hareketinde etkili olduğuna inanmaktadırlar; ancak Ahbâr’dan önce ulaşılan kaynaklar bu iddiayı desteklemek için yeterli değildir. Çalışmada öncelikle Mehdî inancı ele alınacak, daha sonra beklenen kurtarıcı inancının Hicrî 2. yüzyıldaki önemi ve Abbâsî İhtilâli ile ilişkisi tartışılacak, son olarak da Mehdî inancının Abbâsî İhtilâli’ndeki etkinliğinin kaynağımıza nasıl yansıdığı incelenecektir. Bu makale, Ahbâru’l-Abbâs adlı kaynakta, Mehdî inancına doğrudan işaret eden rivayetlerin azınlığına karşın, siyah sancakların ele alındığı rivayetlerin fazla olduğunu savunmaktadır. Böylece Abbâsîlerin Mehdî inancından ihtilâlin başarıya ulaşması ve ardından meşrûiyeti sağlamada istifade ettikleri söylenebilir. Ancak bu inanç yalnızca Mehdî inancı değil, bilhassa siyah sancaklı Mehdî inancıdır. (shrink)

Nietzsche, çağının belirleyici problemi olarak teşhis ettiği nihilizmi aşmak amacıyla, tüm değerlerin yeniden değerlendirilmesi çağrısında bulunur. Ona göre bu görev, yaşamın olumlanmasına dayanan bir zeminde yeni değerlerin yaratılmasını gerektirir. Nietzsche’nin bu projesinin merkezinde hem doğal süreçleri hem de toplumsal-kültürel yaratımları açıklamak için kullandığı güç istenci kavramı yer alır. Yaşamı güç istenciyle açıklamaya çalışmak, tüm yaşamın, çatışma ve mücadele ilişkileri içerisinde biçimlendiğini savunmak anlamına gelir. Böylesi bir anlam, değer yaratımının bir çatışma alanı içinde nasıl mümkün olabileceği sorusunu gündeme getirir. Bu çalışma, (...) söz konusu soruya, Nietzsche’nin Antik Yunan kültürünün kurucu bir unsuru olan agon pratiğine ilişkin incelemelerinden hareketle bir yanıt aramaktadır. Nietzsche’ye göre Antik Yunan’da agon, yıkıcı ve olumsuz duyguların, yarışma ve rekabet yoluyla, yapıcı ve olumlu duygulara dönüştürülmesini mümkün kılar. Böylesi bir pratik, Antik Yunan kültürünün neredeyse tüm toplumsal-kültürel uğraşlarını biçimlendirmektedir. Bu çalışmada, yaşamın olumlanmasına dayanan yeni değerlerin ancak bu türden agonistik güç ilişkileri içerisinde yaratılabileceğinin ortaya konması amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmada, aynı zamanda, güç istencinin kendisinin agonistik bir yapıya sahip olduğu iddia edilmekte ve bu yapının dikkate alınması halinde, güç istencinin, yaşamın olumlanması ve değerlerin yeniden değerlendirilmesiyle ilişkisini daha açık bir biçimde kavramanın mümkün olacağı savunulmaktadır. Bu çalışma, 6 Şubat 2023 Kahramanmaraş merkezli depremler sonrasında sahada görevlendirilen Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı personelinin deprem deneyimlerini, başa çıkma yöntemlerini ve depremzedelerin manevi ihtiyaçlarına ilişkin gözlemlerini fenomenolojik desen ile incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma grubunu, amaçlı örnekleme ve kartopu tekniği ile belirlenen, yaşları 28–58 arasında değişen toplam 14 katılımcı oluşturmuştur (1 müftü, 1 vaiz, 3 imam-hatip, 1 din hizmetleri uzmanı, 1 manevi danışman, 1 şoför ve 6 Kur’an kursu öğreticisi). Veriler, uzman görüşü alınarak oluşturulan 15 soruluk yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat formu aracılığıyla Nisan-Haziran (...) 2023 döneminde yüz yüze toplanmış; görüşmeler ortalama 30–35 dakika sürmüştür. Etik kurul onayı alınmış, ses kayıtları transkribe edilmiş ve gizlilik amacıyla katılımcılar K1-K14 kodlarıyla ifade edilmiştir. Veriler, tematik analiz yöntemiyle çözümlenmiş ve analiz sonucunda 3 ana tema ve toplam 12 alt tema belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçları, saha öncesi deneyimler ana teması altında katılımcıların yoğun kaygı, üzüntü, yetersiz kalma endişesi ve bazı fiziksel belirtiler yaşadıklarını göstermektedir. Araştırma bulgularına göre başa çıkma stratejileri temasında katılımcılar arasında en belirgin eğilimin, dua, tevekkül, sabır, kabullenme ve Kur’an okuma gibi pozitif dinî başa çıkma biçimlerinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra problem odaklı (hazırlık, materyal temini) ve duygu odaklı (sosyal destek, sohbet, yürüyüş) stratejilerin de kullanıldığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Sahada uygulamaları ana temasında hizmetler ağırlıklı olarak cenaze işlemleri, manevi destek faaliyetleri ve çocuklara yönelik etkinlikler etrafında şekillenmiştir. Depremzedelerin depremi kader, imtihan veya ilahî uyarı gibi dinî çerçevelerle ya da doğal bir olay olarak anlamlandırdıkları; bazı durumlarda suçluluk ve kendini sorgulama eğilimlerinin tecrübe edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Saha sonrası etkiler ana teması altında ise katılımcıların hem ikincil travmatik stres belirtileri hem de travma sonrası büyüme göstergelerini bildirdikleri bulgulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak bu çalışma, afet bağlamında manevi destek hizmetlerinin yanı sıra bu hizmeti sunan personelin psikolojik ve manevi iyi oluşunu korumaya yönelik, eğitim ve süpervizyonu içeren bütüncül bir hazırlık ve izlem modeline ihtiyaç olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. There are numerous studies on the esoteric sects in Islam. Though in these studies they have been discussed from different respects, none of them draws attention to the place and importance of the theory of shadows (aẓilla) in the esoteric sects. In this article, after the identification of the meaning of the theory of shadows, it has been argued that the concept of shadows has a central role in understanding the esoteric system of thought. In this context, it has been (...) tried to reveal the central effect of the theory of shadows on the basic ideas of esoteric sects. SUMMARY There are numerous studies on the esoteric sects in Islam. Though in these studies they have been discussed from different respects, none of them draws attention to the place and importance of the theory of shadows (aẓilla) in the esoteric sects. In this article, after the identification of the meaning of the theory of shadows, it has been argued that the concept of shadows has a central role in understanding the esoteric system of thought. In this context, it has been tried to reveal the central effect of the theory of shadows on the basic ideas of esoteric sects. The theory of shadows can be defined as the reflection of the shadows or non-material beings, which appear in the divine world, in this world in a material form. The origins of this view go back to the Plato’s theory of ideas that he formulated as ideas and forms and to his allegory of cave that he used to explain this theory. This theory which was formulated and developed by the pre-Islamic various religious and philosophical traditions took an Islamic form through the bāṭinī/esoteric schools. The theory of shadows was first developed by the extremist groups of shiʿa. Though the early classical works referred the theory of shadow to the extremist shiʿas, they do not give any detail thereof. Nevertheless, it is possible to find in some views of theirs and in the esoteric sects such as Ismailites, Nusayrites, Druzes and Yazidites some clues about the character of this theory. In addition, the later works like Kitāb al-Haft wa al- ʾAẓilla directly articulating the theory of shadows were composed. Although the theory of shadows was not mentioned sufficiently in the works produced within the bāṭinī/esoteric circles, it is witnessed that their understandings of religion were based, to a large extent, upon the theory of shadows. The most basic feature of this unnamed understanding is the claim that every being in the divine world has been reflected in this world in a material form. Since the essence of God generally was kept out from the manifestation (tajallī), reflection was not started with his essence. However, the first beings emanating from Almighty Creator brought the divine world into being and that world was reflected to this world in a material form. With this perception, a Gnostic understanding was developed that the material has no reality and the ultimate reality should be sought in the non-material. According to this, the material beings consisting of only reflection of reality are not possible to have an ultimate reality. The only truth is the meaning, inner (bātin) or shadow which reflects to the world in a material form. Naturally what a bāṭinī should do is to seek the non-material ultimate truth hidden behind the material form. The theory of shadows in this point argued compulsorily the distinction of ẓāhir-bātin (outer-inner). Accordingly, ẓāhir consists of a shell or reflection in which hides the truth. The duty one should do is to go beyond the outer meaning of religious text and to get the inner truth hidden behind the outer meaning. The theory of shadows made a dualist view point obligatory, because every being has an inner aspect which includes the truth and an outer respect in which the ultimate truth is reflected in a material form. God has the inner attributes through which the truth appears spiritually and material attributes to which they are reflected. Universe has a dualist character, a spiritual universe consisting of non-material realities and material universe consisting of its reflections. Human beings have a dualist character, a soul belonging to the divine world and a body belonging to this world. Religious texts which were sent for the salvation of mankind also have two aspects, the inner (bāṭin) belonging to the divine world and the outer (ẓāhir) belonging to this world. Since the Bāṭiniyya considered the divine world to be composed of sevenfold and each fold to be a divine being, they sought, as a result of the theory of shadow, to find in the material world the counterparts or reflections of these beings. Even if their names show differences, the bāṭinī/esoteric groups regarded in certain times some figures as the reflections of the divine world in the material world. Divine beings called al-ʿAql al-Kullī (the Universal Intellect), al-Nafs al-Kullī (the Universal Soul), al-Kalima, Sābiq and Tālī were reflected in the world as the material forms like the Prophet Muhammad, Ali, Salman al-Farisī, Miqdāt b. al-Aswad, Ammār b. Yāsir. This understanding resulted in the divinization of some figures in the world, because it was held that through the manifestation these figures differ from the ordinary people, thus having some divine features. These figures gaining a bipolar identity were outwardly human beings, while inwardly regarded as the forms of divine beings reflected in the world. In this point, what the other people should do is to comprehend, with reference to the figures and their forms, the divine truth reflecting them. This approach brought about a religious understanding in which an individual salvation was not possible and some figures were perceived as charismatic leaders. As a result, the religious understanding developed by the Bāṭiniyya schools is under the ultimate influence of the theory of shadows. With reference to this theory, they developed a new understanding of Islam called Esotericism. At the core of this perception lies the theory of shadows and dualism as its inseparable part. In this sense, Esotericism represents a religious understanding developed in this direction and having a wholeness and deepness. In order to understand this religious understanding correctly, the theory of shadows must be taken into consideration and the esoteric texts be read in this direction. This kind of way of reading, in which the outer is seen as the unique reality, fails to realize the duality behind it, will not enable us to comprehend the inner wholeness of Esotericism and cause to see it as a mass of contradictions. Bu makalenin konusu Mısırlı âlim ve edebiyatçı Mustafa Sadık er- Râfiî’nin Arap edebiyat tarihine dair oryantalist yaklaşıma ve yazım tarzına yöneltiği eleştirileriler ve bu eleştirilerin değerlendirilmesidir. Râfiî’nin bu alanda yazdığı kitabın başlangıç kısmından çıkardığımız bu eleştirileri terim eleştirisi, kalıp eleştirisi, niyet eleştirisi, pratik fayda eleştirisi başlıkları altında topladık. Bu başlıklar altında incelediğimiz eleştirilerin ortak noktası bunların esasında bir paradigma eleştirisi olmasıdır. (shrink)

This is a conversation on contemporary thoughts about play and pretence, entitled ‘Pretend’ as a frame for social games that involve role-play as well as live art and participatory practice, where the audience is a central player. Artist Yara El-Sherbini has been based in Santa Barbara for almost a decade ago but at the time of this conversation, is about to return to the UK. She uses play and humour in her live art, installation and video practice to question (...) systems of power and influence with her audiences. Also in conversation is Jaakko Stenros, a senior lecturer in game studies at Tampere university in Finland. Jaako takes part in and writes about ‘LARP’ (Live Action Role Play); particularly Nordic LARP, where this practice of character-driven real-world role-play is highly evolved. Their shared interest and practice includes taking familiar socio-cultural tropes and pushing, reframing or unsettling these through language and behaviour to produce fruitful and often challenging engagement with the audience and/or players. Drawing on resonance theory, this article aims to present the Arctic Winter Games (AWG) as an alternative model of sporting event in late modernity—one that fosters conditions conducive to experiencing social resonance. This analysis is based on a qualitative research design with a multimethod approach that included archival analysis, interviews, surveys, and observations conducted during the 2023 AWG. Our analysis delineates numerous key elements of social resonance, including frequent expressions of affection and self-efficacious response; all supported by fundamental preconditions such (...) as openness, curiosity, and vulnerability. In addition, we examine four critical spaces that shape the potential for resonance at the AWG: organizational objectives as well as spatial, temporal, and psychological conditions. This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge by highlighting the deep relationships fostered by sporting events, illustrating how resonance theory offers unique insights beyond traditional social relationship frameworks. Moreover, it presents resonance as a novel framework for understanding how alternative sporting event models can structure conditions conducive to meaningful social relationships, thereby offering a critical and practical perspective beyond conventional competition-driven approaches. This is a contribution to the idea that some proofs in first-order logic are synthetic. Syntheticity is understood here in its classical geometrical sense. Starting from Jaakko Hintikka’s original idea and Allen Hazen’s insights, this paper develops a method to define the ‘graphical form’ of formulae in monadic and dyadic fraction of first-order logic. Then a synthetic inferential step in Natural Deduction is defined. A proof is defined as synthetic if it includes at least one synthetic inferential step. Therapeutic landscapes encapsulate healing and recovery notions in natural and built environmental settings. Tourists’ perceptions determine their decision making of health and wellness tourism consumption. Researchers struggle with the conceptualization of the term ‘therapeutic landscapes’ across disciplines. Drawing on extant literature searched in nine databases, this scoping review identifies different dimensions of therapeutic landscapes. Out of identified 178 literature sources, 124 met the inclusion criteria of identified keywords. We review the contribution and the potential of environmental psychology in understanding tourist (...) behavior to promote health and wellness tourism destinations in a post COVID-19 context. We develop and propose a conceptual framework comprising: perceived goodness of therapeutic landscapes, health and wellness consumption, COVID-19 pandemic perceived health and wellness risk, place attachment, and re-visitation. We propose measurement scales and discuss implications and major issues in the immediate and post the COVID-19 pandemic to inform future research. (shrink)

Este artigo pretende refletir a respeito do universalismo de Sueli Carneiro, que, na minha interpretação, se estabelece por oposição ao universalismo excludente e “substitucionalista” que encontramos em diversas filosofias ocidentais. Carneiro é universalista na medida em que almeja a efetivação da liberdade e da igualdade para todos e na medida em que se revela defensora inconteste dos direitos humanos. Mas há ainda outra dimensão do universalismo carneriano, desenvolvida em Dispositivo de racialidade: a construção do outro como não ser como fundamento (...) do ser, e que se baseia na distinção heidegeriana entre o ôntico e o ontológico para defender que a redução ao particular aprisiona o indivíduo, ao passo que “é a ideia de universalidade que emancipa o indivíduo e permite-lhe expressar a sua especificidade”. A tese segundo a qual o universal é emancipador é valiosa num momento, como o nosso, em que as teorias universalistas estão sob o escrutínio da crítica por diversos ângulos e perspectivas. Carneiro inverte o sentido da oposição entre o particular e o universal, comumente presente nas críticas anti-universalistas ao universalismo excludente, ao tornar excludente o particular e emancipador o universal. In this article, I argue that Amy Allen’s approach of gender issues in The Politics of Our Selves is precarious and partial insofar as it is focused on an analysis of subjection aiming to explain “how subordinated individuals come to be psychically invested in and attached to their subornation” 2. Although this is an undeniable aspect of gender subordination, it does not tackle the complexity of its symbolic and material causes. My main thesis is that Allen does not offer the (...) best model for feminist Critical Theory in light of the complexities of capitalist societies, much less to the feminist struggles in the Global South, deeply marked by poverty, social inequality, racism and all sorts of violence against women. It has ensured that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and in situations when a law impinges on the rights and the liberties of citizens, it can be pruned or made void. This is a collection of scholarly essays demonstrating the different facets of judicial review based on the vast area of comparative constitutional law. Such discourse on human greatness is balanced by the considerations of daily joy and anguish on clinical and societal levels. This wide-ranging and nuanced volume on the history, culture, and psychosocial struggles of African American people fills an important gap in the literature on psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. This paper investigates whether and to what extent Giorgio Agamben's political theory offers theoretical resources to reflect on the issue of the emancipation of women in contemporary capitalist democracies. My goal is to investigate whether the Estate of Exception theory helps us to think about gender subjugation, which causes the constraint of women's participation in public life, their economic marginalization and cultural domination. I intend to suggest that this theory is internally blocked to deal with the gender issue, which is (...) mainly due to its diagnosis of contemporary democracies based on an excessive focus on government machinery and dominant institutions and the related negligence of civil society, its specific demands, its struggles and effective achievements. I also intend to question if this diagnosis would suggest that women's achievements, since the end of the nineteenth century, are illusory or not significant. (shrink)
